of 10 and over. On event day, registration is $35. Race day packet pick-up is

the race can run on time. On the same day of the race, there will be a Carnaval/Fair
event taking place at Ascarate Park, you do not have to pay a $5 parking fee if
are attending Kickin’ Asphalt.
The El Paso Center for Children offers
various resources such as Counseling and Life Skills, Victims of Crime, Family
Resource Center, Strong Families, Early Childhood Services, Youth Outreach/Housing,
Emergency Shelter, and Foster Care. This event will help raise money for the different
resources offered. For donations, 100% go to their programs.
Center for Children has served the El
Paso community for over 100 years. In 1919, the first orphanage opened in El Paso.
According to their website, epccinc.org, by 1927, the second orphanage called
Southwestern Children’s home was started. In 1984, both orphanages merged and created
El Paso Center for Children.
According to their digital flyer located
on their website called “Make Difference,” there are volunteer opportunities
for those looking to volunteer. If you host a donation drive, contact Victoria
at vroberts@epccinc.org or
915-260-1284 for an updated list of new items they may need. Another way to
give is to leave donations in your will, for your birthday, ask for donations
instead of gifts, you can make a gift now by contacting Roberts.
When you donate, you are helping a
family that is going through a hard time, a youth that has no place to stay,
and foster children whose families cannot take care of them. Young adults who are
in need may be eligible for rental assistance, housing assistance, and the
support of a case manager. El Paso Center for Children continues to customize its
programs to better serve the needs of the El Paso Community.
If you are not able to make the event
this year, you can donate by going to their website. If you were not able to attend
or can’t get enough, El Paso Center for Children is expected to host this Kickin’
Asphalt 5k Fundraiser next year as well.
